Cast and Crew Quotes
"It's action, it's fun, it's zombies, it's comedy, it's horror, it's... me as a zombie."
- Amber Heard
"I knew it would be good when I read the script, however, I only had a couple of days. The director called me and said, 'Look can we make this cameo for you? Can we make it work?' And I said, 'I only have 2 days.' He said we'll make it work then. And I had a great time doing it and I'm glad I got to be a disgusting zombie because I’'m so... You can only be the pretty girl so much, you know? It's good to kind of have a good time with yourself and not take it so seriously.

Critics Quotes
The replay value of Ruben Fleischer's film is extraordinary. Unlike many films these days, I can see myself watching Zombieland on multiple occasions. Not only does it live in the same universe as Superbad, but it also has quite possibly one of the all-time funniest scenes ever thanks to Bill Murray (I'm going to leave this as vague as possible, go see it). Fleischer's film is beautifully shot (his slow-mo sequences are stunning), engaging, funny, heartfelt and more importantly F-U-N. If you're looking for a movie that has it all, Zombieland is a season pass worth picking up.
- Bloody Disgusting
So the sudden, desperate door-banging of the hot chick from the next apartment (Amber Heard) is the knock of both opportunity and apocalypse. She's been attacked by a ravaging zombie and needs the shelter of Columbus' arms. "Set aside the feverish homeless cannibal," he muses in a voice-over, "I'm living in a dream."
- Time
But first-time director Ruben Fleischer gives Zombieland the look and feel of a real movie, framing his widescreen images with impressive skill and creativity. Fleischer also displays a genuine flair for comedic timing (part of the reason the jokes work so well is that they've been shot and edited so skillfully), and he deftly leavens the movie's broad comedic overtones with a layer of pathos, gently reminding us of the great tragedy nestled underneath the laughs, which helps the characters take root as something more than just clowns.
- Miami Herald
Even the ubiquitous Amber Heard shows up (and doubtless has more fun here than in the creatively zombified The Informers), and there's an excellent surprise appearance that makes up for a long mayhem-less stretch…
First-time feature director Ruben Fleischer brings impeccable timing and bloodthirsty wit to the proceedings. Cinematographer Michael Bonvillain captures some interesting images amid the post-apocalyptic carnival of carnage, as when he transforms the destruction of a souvenir shop into a rough ballet. There are even a few poignant moments in the movie, but they don't get in the way of the funny, violent, zombie-killing good time.
