Amber Heard returned to Attack of the Show a few days ago (estimated May 25, 2011) to talk about The Ward, her new horror film set in a haunted psychiatric ward during the 1960′s. She talks about working with iconic horror director John Carpenter and more. Screencaps to come shortly.

The Playboy Club establishes Amber Heard’s character as a bit of a mystery — and Heard is not about to go blabbing about her to the likes of us.

“She’s got a somewhat dubious past behind her,” Heard says of Maureen, the Playboy Club bunny she plays in NBC’s new drama, which is set in 1963. “What I love about Maureen is we don’t know much about where she comes from, but we have to figure it’s important. … We get the sense that there’s a lot to learn about her.”

Heard herself has been learning about the era Maureen lives in, and she’s excited to help bring it to life on the show. “It was a different time for women, it was a different time for what we expected of women,” she tells Zap2it in the video below. “It was a different time for our silhouettes, for fashion. … It’s a texturally rich time to tell a story, and I’m excited that ours takes place in such a setting.”

Heard also had a little bit more — but not too much; again, the mystery — about what you can expect from The Playboy Club, which will air at 10 p.m. ET Mondays in the fall. Watch the video for more.

A preview trailer has been released for The Playboy Club and it looks pretty great! It appears that the role of Maureen will be an exciting one for Amber. While there is yet to be a U.S. release date, the opening credits have leaked online for John Carpenter’s return to feature-length horror, The Ward, which premiered at last September’s TIFF.

“The story follows a girl (Amber Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night.”
