"All I can do is fight to confront the preconceived notions of what those labels mean or what roles I'm limited to. Just because I'm with a woman now doesn't mean I'm less or more capable of changing the world." - Amber Heard

The other day we added some new images to the gallery related to Pineapple Express. Including the first movie stills found, caps of an interview Amber gave to MovieWeb from Comic-Con (You can download the video here) and a shot of Miss Heard and her Pineapple family for the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. I only grow more and more excited for this film!
Also today marks the DVD release for Never Back Down. There are two editions available (read more). I should be getting my copy very soon and will make captures for the site. We’d like to know if anyone plans to pick up the two-disc extended version, if so if you could give us a report about the features and extra scenes (if there is more of Amber) before we look into buying it. Or if you can cap those extras that would be highly appreciated!

MoviesOnline sat down with Seth Rogen, James Franco, Danny McBride, Amber Heard, David Gordon Green, and Evan Goldberg at the Los Angeles press day for their new movie, Pineapple Express.
After taking on the sex comedy in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, and redefining the coming-of-age film in Superbad, the filmmaking team at Apatow Productions make their first action-comedy in Pineapple Express, a Midnight Run for the stoner set about two lazy guys on the lam and their comic attempt to stay one step ahead of a band of vicious killers.
Process Server Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) has a grudging business relationship with the laconic Saul Silver (James Franco), deigning to visit only to purchase Saul’s primo product – a rare new strain of pot called Pineapple Express. But when Dale becomes the only witness to a murder by a crooked cop (Rosie Perez) and the city’s most dangerous drug lord (Gary Cole), he panics and dumps the Pineapple Express at the scene. When it’s traced back to him, Dale and Saul run for their lives and they quickly discover that they’re not just suffering from weed-fueled paranoia. If they survive, these two just might become real friends.

Amber Heard will be promoting Pineapple Express at the San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 25, 2008. Please refer to the Comic-Con website for further details!
Pineapple Express: Frankly, if we tell you almost anything about the plot to this action/comedy, we probably wouldn’t even be allowed to be here, so let’s just say that producer Judd Apatow will be on stage with the gang in tow-director David Gordon Green, Seth Rogen (star and co-writer), James Franco, DannyMcBride, Amber Heard, and Evan Goldberg (co-writer)-to show you how they’ve taken this particular genre to new highs. Also, be sure to ask Seth and Evan about their upcoming Green Hornet film.

There is a new theatrical trailer in high definition for Pineapple Express on AOL. This is an edited version, slightly different from the previous red band one. It actually shows less of Amber’s character, but atleast we get a big clear view of her now! HD Captures of her blink and miss it shot in the trailer have been added.

A red band trailer for Amber’s upcoming Pineapple Express has made it’s way online. You can stream it via this link. You should make note a “red band” trailer means Rated R, you will not be able to access it unless you are above the age of 17 and have a valid driver’s licence. However someone did upload it on Youtube and since I (like many) will not be able to access the official link, I thought I’d post that link as well.
You can see Miss Heard in two blink or miss it shots, but I did cap it and you can view them in the gallery. I know this movie is most certainly not for everybody but I personally can’t wait, love the song by M.I.A. too!

RottenTomatoes.com has published a lengthy new Mandy Lane interview with Amber Heard. In it she also discusses The Pineapple Express. Click here to read it but please notice that it also contains some spoilers regarding the movie. You have been warned.
Discussing Mandy Lane: “I got the script in LA and I loved it. This was a movie that was really under the radar; no one was really talking about it. It didn’t have much money and subsequently it didn’t get much attention right off the bat. I found this script and I said, ‘Whoa, I want this movie, I have to do this.’ And it’s different; there are so many things you get where it feels like you’re reading the same girl over and over again. And then I read this script and I thought it was truly different and that it could be done well.”
Discussing Mandy Lane: “Everyone has these expectations, whether they’re subconscious or not, of the glamour and how much fun that you can have in LA and I went with those same expectations. This was my first shoot, my first leading role. I fly to my hometown, funnily enough, to film and I stand out in this field waiting for my hair and make-up. Instead of the chair, instead of the lights, I stand in the middle of a field and have, literally, a bucket of freshly-dug mud dumped on my head. I thought to myself, ‘This isn’t exactly what I expected!’ As I’m lying in a mud-pit having fake blood squirted in my mouth, I think, I love my job!”
Discussing The Pineapple Express: “I play Seth Rogen’s girlfriend. There weren’t any real female characters written into this script other than myself and one other that I can remember and we both have smaller roles when compared to the boys, like many of Judd Apatow’s movies. The women are not very important in the sense of things. I play his girlfriend, a slightly neurotic girl that he happens to be dating. You’re wondering why, on both of our ends.”

Are you a big fan of the Judd Apatow posse yet? The guys who gave you The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and the upcoming Superbad? Well, good news. Some early reports are out on The Pineapple Express, and they’re pretty positive. Produced by Apatow, written by Seth Rogen, and directed by David Gordon Green (!?!), the action comedy focuses on a stoner (Rogen) and a weed dealer (James Franco) who have to go on the run when they come across some crooked cops. Also on board are Gary Cole, Rosie Perez, Amber Heard, and James Remar.
Yes, David Gordon Green (the young man who gave you All the Real Girls and Undertow) is now directing a stoner action comedy. Awesome.
Apparently there were some early test screenings last night, and AICN has some of the reactions. I just did some quick-scanning, but here’s a few snippets:
