Cinema Blend has posted a wonderful new interview with Amber. Apparently our girl is shooting The Stepfather during the nights and promoting Never Back Down during the days! Talk about a hard worker! Check out the full article here and a couple of interesting quotes below.
“I think there’s a part when you sign your soul to the devil and start working in Los Angeles that you also sign away that you could be a human being in anyone’s eye. You’re like a robot!”
“It’s funny because I do get a bunch of these roles and as a young woman In Hollywood you tend to get these girlfriend easier than one could imagine. I get them every day and I won’t take a bad film, one that doesn’t make me feel good when I fall asleep at night. But that being said, you do look at a character and sometimes it could never be anything more than 2 dimensional but in this case I play Baja Miller. I play a young girl in high school. There was a certain amount of truth Chris Hauty put into the subtext and back-story that made it easy to build a 3-d character out of the script.”
“Brad Renfro was an amazing person and a very talented artist. One has a lot of respect for those qualities that are kind of rare. The things that tormented him and caused his passing exist everywhere in reality. You go down to the street here in Beverly Hills and there’s somebody affected in the same way, by substance or escapism. It was sad though because he was an artist and he put himself in the public eye and he’s going to be scrutinized. People are going to look at him and say that the industry did this or the drugs or whatever and young people are this way. It’s not just young people. It’s not old people, it’s not only actors. It’s everybody. Everybody knows somebody with a problem.”
Amber did indeed attend the premiere of Never Back Down last night, she looked a-m-a-z-i-n-g in this gorgeous electric pink dress with her hair in a pretty up do!
We’re currently in the process of moving our gallery and video archives to a new and much faster server so we’re unable to post pictures at the moment. The move should not be much longer, but here is a preview, none the less! Check back later this week because there will be tons more pictures of this event (as well as some other updates).
The Los Angeles premiere of Never Back Down will be held Tuesday, March 4, 6:30 PM at the Cinerama Dome, 6360 Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood. No official word if Amber will be in attendance - but it is very likely she will.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Amber has indeed signed up for Stepfather. Check out this report:
Jon Tenney and Amber Heard have joined the cast of Screen Gems’ The Stepfather, a remake of the 1987 horror thriller being produced by Maverick Films.
Tenney will play a father trying to reconnect and protect his teenage son, played by Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl). Heard plays Badgley’s girlfriend. Friday Night Lights actress Adrianne Palicki was in negotiations for Heard’s part, but the dates did not work out, according to her reps.
Sela Ward is already on board as Tenney’s ex-wife, whose soon-to-be husband (Dylan Walsh of Nip/Tuck) might have murdered his previous family.
I have updated with three The Beautiful Ordinaryvideos: the teaser, trailer and TV spot. You can also check out their caps here. I hope the movie will see wider release soon. I, for one, think it looks very promising!
Both Bloody-Disgusting.com and MovieHole have gotten the scoop that Miss Heard will star in the remake of The Stepfather! (Both sources are very reliable.) This is truly exciting!
Amber will join the previously announced Dylan Walsh, Sela Ward, Penn Badgley, Adrianne Palicki, Chris Meloni and Sherry Stringfield in the film that is shooting now and will wrap production April 15 in Los Angeles, California. The story centers on a teenage boy (Badgley) who discovers his soon-to-be stepfather isn’t all he appears. In fact, the man who fell in love with his mother (Sela Ward), might be a psycho who murdered his previous family.
In the original 1987 horror favorite, Terry O’Quinn (of Lost fame) played the infamous Stepfather. The movie spawned two sequels.
Amber has been interviewed by MTV News (UK) about her film Mandy Lane. Even better it’s a video interview! We have found hardly any other interview/press junket footage of Amber thus far, so this is quite exciting for us! Several clips from the film were shown, a few of which have not previously been seen. As usual beware of some spoilery material. Captures and the clip have been added to the site.
I’d also like to make a quick note and say All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is playing in several parts of the UK right now so be sure to go out and support!
Boy we are just getting treated left and right to new Amber articles! Check out this Q&A from IGN here. Amber dishes on Mandy Lane, The Pineapple Express and speaks out about her part in The Informers for the first time, judging from her quotes this will most definitely be interesting to say the least!
On The Informers - IGN: So what can we expect?
“Drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll. For everyone. It’s brilliant. It’s really gross – I mean that word very specifically. It’s very real. It’s very gritty. It’s very in your face. It’s about decadent, decadent Hollywood. The nastiest, beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but very powerful.”
“She’s a bad girl. I play Christie and if I say too much, I’ll give away a very important part of the film. She’s very wealthy and she represents a very strong evil. She does drugs and is very promiscuous. It’s like a Crash-type movie with several different storylines linked by my character.”
