A tiny update for today. Amber is currently busy filming The Rum Diary in Puerto Rico and hence did not attend the Los Angeles premiere of The Informers on April 16. We have been unable to find any pictures of Amber on the set in Puerto Rico so far but if you manage to spot her, please do send in your pictures and reports!
The gallery has been updated today with two new stills from The Informers, which opens in North America next week.

Santa Barbara A&E Blog has posted a positive review of The Informers, giving it four stars out of five! The film has been trashed so much that I thought I’d post this for an alternative view:
I am not always a fan of films that ‘go nowhere’, but I do like them more than not, because they have the nerve to explore reality as the best art does – by using our expectations to reveal uncomfortable truths; Very little in real life gets resolved. Very few endings are happy and lesson’s aren’t always learned. All sorts of predictable and random shit just ‘happens’ everyday. So I am supremely grateful for films like The Informers that undermine our built-in cultural sense that we are somehow entitled to a ‘point’.

ComingSoon.net has posted it’s reviews and wrap up the 25th Annual Sundance Film Festival and they listed The Informers as it’s worst unfortunately.
The Informers – On paper, this certainly seemed like it could be one of the festival’s grandslams, as Gregor Jordan (Buffalo Soldiers) directed Brett Easton Ellis’ adaptation of his own novel about a group of young L.A. hipsters in the early ’80s, and while it was filled with all the sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll we’ve seen Ellis’ past work, none of the stories really had much of an impact. The characters weren’t very interesting or likeable, and much of it seemed like ground Ellis covered far more effectively in Less Than Zero, which actually came out in the ’80s. At this point, it’s doubtful that Ellis can do very much to shock us, and the movie is only notable for the fact that Amber Heard spends most of it topless.
More pics/videos from Sundance will be coming soon, stay tuned!

The Informers has now been screened to the press and the reviews… Are not complimentary. Far from it, unfortunately. Here are some excerpts:
From SlashFilm.com:
Spoiled Rich kids. Drugs. Sex. Amber Heard naked. Aids. Infidelity. Kidnapping. Unconnected. Boring. Uninteresting. Horrible.
From HitFix.com:
I’m inclined to briefly comment on Amber Heard, who plays Christie, a flirty young woman caught in the middle of a love triangle. You know that old Hollywood chestnut where actresses say they’ll only do nudity if it’s necessary for the character? Obviously Heard felt that way about this film, because she’s at least partially naked for most of the movie. Her character is crucial to the movie, but it seems like all of her dramatic scenes must have been cut, leaving only the nudity. Seriously, how bad does a movie have to be if I’m saying that I wished Heard’s role had included more exposition to justify the nudity?

Thanks to Martin for informing us – heh – that The Informers now has an official site up at TheInformers.com. There is not much content there at the moment but we do learn that the release date for the movie is in April 2009 – that is a month earlier than previously rumored.
The Informers hits theaters in New York and Los Angeles on April 10 before expanding to more cities throughout the month.
