This entire month we’ve been informing you of all the casting announcements surrounding Drive Angry 3D but it was still a bit of a mystery surrounding Amber’s official involvement. Bloody-Disgusting.com first reported the news and they are almost always right on the money. But for those of you still looking for a bit more confirmation, Variety mentioned Amber’s name among a cast break (although it’s an actor we told you about days ago). They’re pretty solid as well. At this point, we think it’s pretty safe to say Amber’s indeed on the Drive Angry team – even though we’re not sure what role she’ll have. We’ll of course let you know if we hear otherwise. Shooting begins in Shreveport, Louisiana next March. Slated to hit theaters February 11, 2011. In case you missed it, the story centers on a man (Nicholas Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway. |

Please visit photographer Tasya van Ree’s website at www.tasyavanree.com to view some truly breathtaking shots, including several of Amber Heard. The photos won’t be posted on Amber-Heard.net at the moment out of courtesy to Tasya who is working on a book, but you will be able to admire them on her site. |

Tonight (February 11th), photographer Tasya van Ree will debut a charity photo exhibit at Celebrity Vault in Beverly Hills. Amber Heard is going to be hosting this event taking place from 7-10pm. Proceeds from the event will go to AbolishSlavery.org, which is targeting human trafficking in Haiti. Hopefully we’ll get some photographs from this tomorrow. Great to see Amber taking part in such an important cause! Tasya’s latest collection of original work,‘The Still Life’, exhibits the inanimate aspect of the motionless lives trafficked children face. Van Ree uses dolls and props to subliminally express the growing severity of the human trafficking issue of the children worldwide. Her photography captures the unmoving, lost, silent and transfixed life in an immobile state of mind, body and soul. Abolish Slavery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating human trafficking and restoring dignity to victims. They organize and coordinate investigations and field operations to find, identify, and retrieve people from slavery, providing for their safe aftercare and rehabilitation. Human trafficking is a form of modern day slavery in which people, mostly women and girls, are abducted, deceived or coerced into situations of forced labor. Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing crimes in the world. |

Bloody-Disgusting.com (generally the most reliable scoop source for horror news) is reporting that Amber Heard and William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Prison Break) are in talks to join Nicolas Cage in the Patrick Lussier directed Drive Angry 3D, a 3D horror pic slated for release on February 11, 2011. Shooting begins in Shreveport, Louisiana this coming March.
I’m kind of a bit iffy on the news personally, if it does come into fruition with Amber cast. I think it could be a cool, enjoyable – pulp esque picture, but at the same time it could also just turn out to be quite bad or too hoakey in the grand scheme of things. Also horror is my personal favorite genre so I’m happy Amber is continuing to find pretty diverse projects within the genre, but I also hope she will continue to branch out and challenge herself as always. While I don’t think any of us mind the thoughts of Ms. Heard in 3D, I hope she’s not going to just be known as the go-to horror girl nowadays! Read on for a bit more information from BD.

Better late than never!
On our report for 2008 we stated that it was the year of Amber Heard so far. It is fair to say that Amber’s popularity only grew in 2009 with the releases of The Informers, Zombieland and The Stepfather and festival releases of The Joneses and ExTerminators. Amber also filmed starring roles in three movies this year: And Soon the Darkness (which she also produced), The Rum Diary and The Ward, all of which will be available in 2010. Needless to say, it will be another massive year for the star! Best news: Worst news: |

Wonderwall had a chance to talk to Amber at the Art of Elysium Gala. Here’s what she had to say:
