"Because I'm in the media I was aware of it and I luckily was introduced to GLAAD and am honored that they wanted me to be a part of tonight because it is such an important organization. I am so impressed with all the important work that they are doing and I couldn't see a more important cause to be aligned with."

TeenHollywood.com has published a lengthy and very interesting interview with Amber Heard, which I’ve added in the library. Be sure to check out the full article here.

“I think it’s the education. I don’t think there are many people who will argue with you about the quality of the education but, other than that, I think it’s a very dangerous thing. School in America in general is conforming enough. We have a very, very strong tendency to fall into that conformity, very easily because it’s the easiest path. I think it’s dangerous to put a young girl in a Catholic school where they teach you to conform and dress the same and it effects your personal life after you leave that school. They’re telling you how to live your life, morality; what to believe, what not to believe and that is scary. It’s literally telling you ‘don’t think for yourself’.”

I was delighted to find Amber among the pages of the April issue of Teen Vogue (Camilla Belle on the cover). Even better it’s a brand new photo and article! Miss Heard looks gorgeous! I have added the two page scans, photoshoot picture and transcribed the article for the library. In it Amber talks about her beauty favorites.

There was a new still from Never Back Down in the Teen Vogue Article and also a small picture of Amber in Allure March 2008.

Amber may be a natural beauty on the outside, but she hopes to prove that there’s more to her than meets the eye, just as her favorite actresses – Hilary Swank and Cate Blanchett – have done. “I want to challenge the audience’s perception of me,” She says.

'Never Back Down' 'The Informers' Articles

Cinema Blend has posted a wonderful new interview with Amber. Apparently our girl is shooting The Stepfather during the nights and promoting Never Back Down during the days! Talk about a hard worker! Check out the full article here and a couple of interesting quotes below.

“I think there’s a part when you sign your soul to the devil and start working in Los Angeles that you also sign away that you could be a human being in anyone’s eye. You’re like a robot!”

“It’s funny because I do get a bunch of these roles and as a young woman In Hollywood you tend to get these girlfriend easier than one could imagine. I get them every day and I won’t take a bad film, one that doesn’t make me feel good when I fall asleep at night. But that being said, you do look at a character and sometimes it could never be anything more than 2 dimensional but in this case I play Baja Miller. I play a young girl in high school. There was a certain amount of truth Chris Hauty put into the subtext and back-story that made it easy to build a 3-d character out of the script.”

“Brad Renfro was an amazing person and a very talented artist. One has a lot of respect for those qualities that are kind of rare. The things that tormented him and caused his passing exist everywhere in reality. You go down to the street here in Beverly Hills and there’s somebody affected in the same way, by substance or escapism. It was sad though because he was an artist and he put himself in the public eye and he’s going to be scrutinized. People are going to look at him and say that the industry did this or the drugs or whatever and young people are this way. It’s not just young people. It’s not old people, it’s not only actors. It’s everybody. Everybody knows somebody with a problem.”

'All the Boys Love Mandy Lane' Articles

Boy we are just getting treated left and right to new Amber articles! Check out this Q&A from IGN here. Amber dishes on Mandy Lane, The Pineapple Express and speaks out about her part in The Informers for the first time, judging from her quotes this will most definitely be interesting to say the least!

On The InformersIGN: So what can we expect?

“Drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll. For everyone. It’s brilliant. It’s really gross – I mean that word very specifically. It’s very real. It’s very gritty. It’s very in your face. It’s about decadent, decadent Hollywood. The nastiest, beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but very powerful.”

“She’s a bad girl. I play Christie and if I say too much, I’ll give away a very important part of the film. She’s very wealthy and she represents a very strong evil. She does drugs and is very promiscuous. It’s like a Crash-type movie with several different storylines linked by my character.”

I have added a really wonderful interview in the press archive, courtesy of LastBroadcast.co.uk (thanks to Will for sending in the link). It is really probably the best interview I’ve ever read of Amber as she’s asked a variety of questions, both about her movies and personal life. She talks about everything from her most recent favorite films to the cancellation of Hidden Palms. Click here to read full interview.

“I loved There Will Be Blood, even though it’s a difficult movie, and Juno. I don’t really notice many strong female writers in Hollywood that aren’t making films just for men but I’m a big fan of Diablo Cody, as a writer and as a person – she’s a very strong, beautiful, intelligent woman who wrote a brilliant, strong, young female character.”

'All the Boys Love Mandy Lane' 'Pineapple Express' Articles

RottenTomatoes.com has published a lengthy new Mandy Lane interview with Amber Heard. In it she also discusses The Pineapple Express. Click here to read it but please notice that it also contains some spoilers regarding the movie. You have been warned.

Discussing Mandy Lane: “I got the script in LA and I loved it. This was a movie that was really under the radar; no one was really talking about it. It didn’t have much money and subsequently it didn’t get much attention right off the bat. I found this script and I said, ‘Whoa, I want this movie, I have to do this.’ And it’s different; there are so many things you get where it feels like you’re reading the same girl over and over again. And then I read this script and I thought it was truly different and that it could be done well.”

Discussing Mandy Lane: “Everyone has these expectations, whether they’re subconscious or not, of the glamour and how much fun that you can have in LA and I went with those same expectations. This was my first shoot, my first leading role. I fly to my hometown, funnily enough, to film and I stand out in this field waiting for my hair and make-up. Instead of the chair, instead of the lights, I stand in the middle of a field and have, literally, a bucket of freshly-dug mud dumped on my head. I thought to myself, ‘This isn’t exactly what I expected!’ As I’m lying in a mud-pit having fake blood squirted in my mouth, I think, I love my job!”

Discussing The Pineapple Express: “I play Seth Rogen’s girlfriend. There weren’t any real female characters written into this script other than myself and one other that I can remember and we both have smaller roles when compared to the boys, like many of Judd Apatow’s movies. The women are not very important in the sense of things. I play his girlfriend, a slightly neurotic girl that he happens to be dating. You’re wondering why, on both of our ends.”

Amber Heard is featured in the October issue of Interview magazine, with Jake Gyllenhaal on the cover.

Unfortunately her interview is very short, and only one photo was published but I think we will all agree in the photo, Miss Heard is a divine knockout and it’s certainly a new personal favorite of both myself and Riikka! The interview is quite good as well, giving some information about almost all of Amber’s upcoming projects from Mandy Lane to The Pineapple Express.

I have transcribed the article so be sure to read up over at the library!
