Amber Heard Supports
Let California Ring builds support across California for the freedom for same-sex couples to marry through a broad public education campaign that reaches out to residents. Their goal is to help all the state's residents understand why the freedom to marry matters for same-sex couples who are their neighbors, family members, friends and fellow Californians.
Amber’s latest effort, The Joneses, which is a comedy starring Demi Moore and David Duchovny, has been released in North America! The movie is getting rather mixed reviews but we hope you Amber fans will go out and support the film, if you have a chance.
Two new stills from the film have also been added to the gallery.
When John Carpenter’s The Ward ultimately reaches the big screen, it will be without a score by the main man himself, or his son Cody for that matter.
Instead, the Carpenter-endorsed Mark Kilian is handling composer duties.
Kilian’s credits include Day Break, the Idris Elba-starring Legacy and more.
The Ward is Carpenter’s first feature film since Ghosts of Mars and stars Amber Heard and Danielle Panabaker. Heard plays a young women committed to a psychiatric facility and discovers a ghost haunting the patients there.
As of now, the movie is still set for a September 24, 2010 release date.
Amber is featured on the cover of yet another magazine! This time she is on 944 Magazine this month. Although the images are not new for us, it’s great to see them in a higher quality. The article however, is new and a good little read. In it Amber discusses the chaotic and exciting times she’s had while on the road for work (like being held at knifepoint in a cab in Santiago, Chile!) and the little treasures of coming back home (who would have thought doing laundry would be missed?) and things like what she values in her house (fresh flowers are a must for her, “I never have an empty vase in my house. Roses are my favorite.”)
“I love to cook. When I’m away I miss my pots and pans and my spices. I take a lot of pride in the spices that I pick out … crazy, random, specific spices from all over the world that I buy in Little Tokyo and markets in LA.”
“There’s a line between being an artist and [being a celebrity]. Whether you’re a famous photographer or artist, or you’re an actor or director, it’s no longer about your job it’s about being a celebrity … and somehow that’s your job … and I hate that idea.”
We’d like to pay a big thanks to Michele of LukeGrimes.net for sending us magazine scans.
Thanks to Lilly, we were pointed in the direction of some snaps of Amber looking pretty as a picture on the set of her Fashion Magazine cover shoot. We’re still trying to grab the mag ourself but hopefully we’ll have it for the site soon!
Welcome back! Amber-Heard.net now has a brand new design! It was really, really – and we mean really overdue, wouldn’t you say? Somehow the time slipped us by. But nevertheless, here we are now. There is also matching themes for the gallery, video section and twitter feed. I hope you like it :)
The images used are from Amber’s Allurephotoshoot last year, which is stunning and perfect for spring wouldn’t you say?
Finally all of the content has been updated and refreshed a bit. Last but certainly not least – we’ve opened our very own Discussion Forum. Now you can chat away with other fans!
We hope you enjoy everything. As always, feedback is highly appreciated as we want to remain your number one resource for all things lady Heard!
Yesterday, Amber Heard was on hand to accept the Dallas International Film Festival Shining Star Award at the Angelika Film Center on April 10, 2010, her film The Joneses was also premiering. Amber was a lady in red, dawning a crimson floral printed dress and vivid red lips. Truly gorgeous! Unfortunately we only have been able to find two pictures (via Max, thanks!). I hope we’ll find more because I’d like to see more of her look and this big achievement for her.
The official film festival website uploaded a video of raw footage of her accepting her award. In it Amber gives thanks and you can see her mom who was in the audience. Watch it below, a transcript of some of her speech to follow.
“Hi, I’m Amber Heard. And it might be a surprise, but I am afraid of public speaking – it scares the hell out of me – so I’m gonna do my best. I even made notes. I got as far as to write ‘Hi, I’m Amber!’.
I just wanna say how happy this makes me, how proud I am to be back in Texas to receive this award and how incredibly honored I am. It’s truly something to start off in theatre classes and as a background actor in Dallas and Austin or wherever you can find work and then find yourself a few years later, here. So thank you. It means a lot to me.”
Unfortunately, and to my surprise, it seems Amber didn’t attend the Los Angeles premiere of The Joneses. You can view pictures of the other film’s major stars like Demi Moore, David Duchovny and Ben Hollingsworth here if you wish.
ABC is bringing you to the red carpet with a live web stream of the Hollywood premiere of the film The Joneses, which stars Demi Moore and David Duchovny at 9:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. PT.
The premiere is taking place at the ArcLight Cinemas 6360 Sunset Blvd, in Hollywood. We’re betting on Amber being in attendance although there wasn’t any press release confirming it! Check back for coverage if so! Thanks to Max for the heads up!
