Billy Burke has joined the cast of director Patrick Lussier’s Drive Angry, Moviehole can reveal.

The picture, written by Todd Farmer, fixes on a rage-filled father (Nicolas Cage) hell-bent on revenge against those that killed his daughter, and kidnapped his granddaughter. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway

Shooting in a month’s time in Louisiana, Drive Angry will be Lussier’s second ’3D’ film following last year’s successful My Bloody Valentine. The filmmaker is also attached to a third 3D film, the zombie-epic Condition Dead, and last year was being courted to helm a third installment in The Weinstein’s newly rebooted Halloween series (Which I don’t believe is going ahead now, not with Lussier anyway – pity, he might’ve been about to rescue that flippin’ decaying series).

Burke’s other credits include the Twilight films, Untraceable with Diane Lane, Feast of Love and Ladder 49.
