Film crews were busy in Spokane last week for a second-unit film shoot of The Joneses, starring Demi Moore, Amber Heard, David Duchovny, Gary Cole and Glenne Headly.

This is a social-commentary movie about a seemingly perfect family moving into a suburb.

Most of the movie is being filmed in Atlanta; just a few scenes were filmed in Spokane, and not necessarily with all of the stars.

However, Spotlight has it on good authority that Duchovny was in Spokane for a few days and even had time to shoot some hoops with some local gym rats.

Comic-Con’s Zombieland panel was held yesterday and the director as well as the main cast, including Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, was in attendance. As we know, Amber’s role is merely a cameo, and they actually showed a clip that features her. It is, however, very spoilery so if you don’t want to know what happens to Amber’s character, please do not proceed!

This fall’s top anticipated horror-comedy film, Zombieland, will hit theatres on October 9th, but attendees to the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con Conference will get an early taste of what’s to come. Once on the convention floor, watch out for groups of sexy scandalously clad zombies who come baring free gifts.

Additionally, Columbia Pictures has teamed up with Zombiewalk: San Diego to take over the streets of Downtown San Diego on the evening of Thursday, July 23rd. Comic-Con attendees will be invited to get “Zombified” for free with the help of a team of professional special effects makeup artists at the Sony Pictures Entertainment Booth (#4313) inside the San Diego Convention Center all day Thursday, July 23rd beginning at 10am.

I have updated the gallery with screencaptures from the Pineapple Express DVD features. There is not really anything major featuring Amber Heard but she does appear quickly in several features. For those who have been asking, I will also add video clips from the film tomorrow – sorry for the long wait!

Amber Heard attended the Cosmopolitan Magazine Party yesterday in Los Angeles. She wore a gorgeous Alexander Wang ensemble, which consisted of a white caged top with a black fitted caged skirt. Her look was completed with a pair of Chloé bow embellished sandals and a large waist belt. As you may notice, Ambe’sr hair has now become bleach blonde from the softer honey blonde she was sporting a few weeks back.

Horror movie master John Carpenter will film his latest picture in Spokane.

Carpenter, directing his first movie since 2001′s Ghosts of Mars, will film portions of The Ward from July 27 through Sept. 4 at various locations in Spokane.

Local production company North by Northwest will handle the technical chores.

The Ward is about an institutionalized young woman who is terrorized by a ghost. The cast list includes actresses Amber Heard and Danielle Panabaker.
