MovieHotties.com has voted Amber Heard as the “Breakthrough Hottie of the Year” for 2008. Of course, Amber definitely was not a “nobody” before 2008 like they state but I thought it was still nice that she got a mention on a “Best Of” list this year. Here’s what they had to say about her:

If there’s one particular chick this year that came out of nowhere and simply blew our minds, it has to be Amber Heard. This foxy blonde was basically a nobody before 2008 but after strong appearances in hit films such as Never Back Down and Pineapple Express, us guys are definitely begging for more. She already has a whopping four movies scheduled for release next year so there is no doubt that Amber is the breakthrough babe of 2008.

Oh, and it certainly is not just guys that are begging for more Amber! ;)

Yesterday Amber Heard attended the D&G Flagship Boutique Opening Benefiting The Art of Elysium in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Miss H. looked incredible in a beige pink dress with black pearls and heels… and tada! Amber is now sporting black locks! Back in September we saw her hair already getting darker with brown.

What do you think of her new look? I personally think she looks absolutely stunning and I love the new look! But as if Amber could do any wrong …

James Franco, Amber’s co-star in Pineapple Express has snagged himself a Golden Globe nomination for the film! I bet you never thought you’d hear that! But it’s fabulous news to anyone who has seen his hilarious performance.

Thanks to Julie we have more images from the previously unknown photoshoot Amber did this year. We now know it was for Hollywood Life. I haven’t seen Amber featured any in the few issues I skimmed this year but as always if you have the spread or know of the month please inform us so we can see about obtaining it. Unfortunately these pictures are quite small but we added them as they have no watermarks and you still probably want to view them like us and little art may always be made with these. This is such a stunning shoot I hope we’ll see them all larger one day!

Great news! According to AOL.com The Informers will premiere next month at the Sundance Film Festival. The independent film showcase runs January 15-25, 2009 in Park City, Utah. I think I am speaking for everyone when I say that this is the film that we are all dying to see as it features Miss Heard is a risque role that is completely different from any she’s tackled in the past. Here’s to hoping that Amber herself will be in attendance at the premiere.
